During the 1969 college football season, John Griffith, a former football player for the University of Wyoming, was one of 14 black student athletes that were removed from the team by Coach Lloyd Eaton for a protest they didn't even have a chance to mount.

Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder gave his monthly report for August to the city council at their meeting this week, saying there were just under 1,500 incidents that officers responded to during the month, the majority of which were traffic related.
