Sheridan County School District 1 trustees got good news Tuesday night about the district's budget for next year, and about a program aimed at getting parents to read to their children.

The Sheridan Travel and Tourism board is changing, and the hope is that the change will be in place by July 1.

Funeral services for William “Jack” Stratton, 70-year-old Deadwood, South Dakota resident who passed away Monday evening at the Johnson County Health Care Center in Buffalo, will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. from the Fidler-Isburg Funeral Home in Spearfish, South Dakota with Monsignor Michael Woster officiating. Visitation will be held at the Fidler-Isburg Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 p.m.

Graveside Funeral Services for Fred Wallace, 87-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away early Tuesday, May 14 at the Legacy Living Center in Gillette, will be held Monday, May 20th at 10:00 a.m. in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo with Reverend Paul Gilbert officiating. Visitation will be held from the Harness Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Scout Troop Raising Funds to Replace Destroyed Tents

Recently, the Sheridan Boy Scout Troop 117 lost most of their collection of tents during an excursion at the Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site.

Project Graduation Still in Need of Volunteers, Donations

Each year, Project Graduation provides a safe event for graduating seniors that participate but in order to keep the ship afloat, volunteers and donations are needed.
