New Lights At Oatts Ball Field May Pay For Themselves In A Few Years

In August of 2009, the Sheridan Recreation District Board of Trustees approved the purchase and installation of new lights at Oatts Field on 6th Street. The lights were starting to become a safety issue, as they were over 35 years old. Sheridan Recreation District Director Richard Wright explains that there are several big advantages to the new lights.

Sheridan Teen Wins Conservation Award

Adam Berry of Sheridan and Kyra Cundall and Jessica Hunt of Greybull are the winners of the Powder River Basin Resource Council's Bill Barlow Memorial Youth in Conservation Award. Together, the students received $500 in cash awards and honorary memberships of the Powder River Basin Resource Council, a Sheridan based non-profit organization.

County Commissioners Receive Early Budget Picture

The Sheridan County Commissioners met with County Administrator Renee Obermueller Wednesday to get an early picture of how this year's budget is shaping up. The reality is that on top of last year's 8% reduction in revenues, the County could be facing an additional 15% reduction for the upcoming fiscal year.

Winter Weather Coming Through

A weather system is moving into the area from the Northwest. Marc Singer Science and Operations Officer at the National Weather Service in Billings, says we shouldn't expect the winter weather to stick around

Marc says this system is expected to last through midday tomorrow.

Dayton Council Sets Dates For Spring Clean-Up Days

The Dayton Town Council set the dates for their spring clean-up days at their meeting Wednesday night. Dayton Mayor Bob Wood says that May 3rd through the 9th will be a week where the Town will help residents get rid of old appliances and other miscellaneous household items.
