City of Sheridan Public Works Director Nic Bateson

City of Sheridan Public Works Director Nic Bateson presented the Council with the numbers for the City's Public Works Department during a budget work session Tuesday. The Public Works budget for fiscal year 2010-2011 is $4.6 million, which is down 18% from last year. The reduced budget can be attributed for the most part to cuts in full time employees throughout the entire Public Works Department. Public Works Director Nic Bateson.

Trees for Trash is this Saturday in Sheridan.

This Saturday is the annual Trees for Trash in Sheridan, where residents can exchange their spring clean-up trash for a free silver maple tree. Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey.

The Wyoming Workforce Development Council has announced the release of an Industry Partnership Solutions Grant opportunity for Wyoming businesses, and will be awarding selected recipients up to $50,000 for a successful application.

69-year-old Sheridan man pleads not guilty to Practicing Without a License.

69-year-old Sheridan Resident Jim Craig plead not guilty to the charge of Practicing Without a License at his initial appearance Monday in Sheridan County Circuit Court. Charging documents state that in November of 2009, the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office became involved in an investigation after Craig had reportedly been legal counsel for a probationer and had been offering substance abuse counseling.

Special Olympics competes in Sheridan this week.

For many years, law enforcement agencies around Wyoming have been proud supporters of Special Olympics. Over the next few weeks, officers and staff will take part in activities both locally and statewide to raise money for upcoming competitions.

The three candidates vying for the position of Sheridan College President are being interviewed today by the college Board of Trustees. Though the Trustees will make the final vote determining who becomes the next college president, community members, faculty, staff and students also had a chance to weigh in during an open forum Monday.
