The Sheridan Recreation District Board of Trustees Wednesday night approved the promotion of Chad Aksamit to the position of Sports Specialist II. Aksamit has been with the Rec. District for the past year and a half as the Recreation Specialist.

The Sheridan City Council budget work sessions continued Wednesday with another round of non-profits applying for optional one cent sales tax monies. It was a lengthy session, as 12 different local non-profit agencies gave a brief rundown of what they do and what the funds would be used for. There are over twenty non-profits applying for one cent funds this year.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The National Weather Service says strong thunderstorms that passed through southeastern Wyoming spawned tornados and flash-flooding in the area and ripped the roof off a house in the town of Burns. Police say people were inside the house when it was damaged but no one was hurt.
