Johnson County Fair 2011 is here!

The 2011 Cat Show was held Monday during the Johnson County Fair in Buffalo.
The Champion Junior Showman was Elizabeth Conklin, Reserve Champion was Rozanna Rozema.
Overall Champion was Rozanna Rozema, Reserve Overall Champion was Elizabeth Conklin.

Sheridan County

The Sheridan County Commissioners, following about 20 minutes of public comment, approved amendments regarding quarry permits at their meeting Tuesday morning.

The City of Sheridan continues to work on developing a purchasing policy that will most likely be implemented in early September. The City Council were presented with a draft review of the policy and tabled the item until a date certain of Tuesday, September 6th.

Hang out with members of the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office tonight at a free barbecue at the Story Fire Hall as they celebrate the National Night Out.

The Buffalo City Council has a full agenda for their meeting Tuesday. The council will hold public hearings and then introduce resolutions for grant applications for the Clear Creek Elementary School Building and the Crazy Woman Square project.

The Buffalo City Council, at their last meeting, approved the transfer of easements from the county to the city on a water line to the fairgrounds.

Johnson County Commissioner Smokey Wildeman

The Johnson County Commissioners have a number of items on their Tuesday agenda, but it looks like a fairly routine day, according to Commission Chair Smokey Wildeman.

Sheridan Senior Center

An event will spread awareness and educate this weekend at the 3rd annual Alzheimer's Memory Walk event Saturday morning, put on by the Sheridan Senior Center. Family Caregiver Director, Stella Montano, talked about this year's event.

4th Annual Brewing Up History Beer Tasting coming to Sheridan County Museum Friday.

Friday, August 5th, the Sheridan County Museum will be holding its 4th annual “Brewing Up History Beer Tasting” fundraiser. Held on the front porch, Black Tooth Brewery will be the featured beer maker. Twenty-four other handpicked beers will also be served.
