The 6th annual Big West Arts Festival at Sheridan College will take place this weekend on the front lawn of the College. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.

Wyoming, Feds announce Plan for Delisting Wolves

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming and the U.S. Department of Interior have reached an agreement over how to end federal protections for wolves in the state. Wyoming Governor Matt Mead hailed the agreement Wednesday, saying wolves have taken a heavy toll on livestock and wildlife in the state.

Rocky Mountain Ambulance has filled two of the four positions that it aims to fill in order to prepare its staff for the transition of providing ambulance services in Sheridan.

Fire Early Wednesday in Woodland Park Village Total Loss

A structure fire was a total loss early Wednesday morning in the Woodland Park Village at 5901 Coffeen Ave. According Goose Valley Fire Chief Bob Williams, Sheridan Fire Rescue were first to respond to the call, followed closely by Goose Valley at approximately 3:30 am. No one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries to residents or firefighters. The fire was extinguished by 7 am.

Prior to their approval of amendments to quarry regulations at Tuesday morning's Sheridan County Commissioners meeting, which included one amendment to take public input into account when granting quarry permits, public input may have stopped another proposal.

Local Legislators Hold Public Meeting on Redistricting

The 2010 Census figures showed a 21% growth in Johnson County and a 9.6% growth in Sheridan County when compared to the last Census in 2000. Wyoming is one of 36 states that leave the redistricting up to the State Legislature to redraw the electoral district boundaries due to population changes.
