County Commissioners Address Dust Suppression

Dust suppression was addressed a couple of different ways at Tuesday's Sheridan County Commissioners meeting. Commissioners authorized staff to submit a grant application for Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement funds through WYDOT.

The two chambers of the Wyoming Legislature reached a compromise Monday to fund the state for the next two years, eventually sending a $3.22 billion budget to Governor Matt Mead for his signature.

Whether there have been more search and rescue operations this year or just more attention drawn to the issue in the news, the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office and Sheridan County Search and Rescue teams have been busy so far this year.

During the course of the last two Sheridan City Council meetings, there have now been two pretty big announcements regarding a couple of the councilors.

Council Approves Contingency Fund Allocations

The Sheridan City Council Monday night allocated $75,000 toward economic development. The first allocation was for $25,000 to conduct a redundant power investigation within the Wrench Ranch Hills subdivision and the Hi-Tech Business Park in north Sheridan.

It has become customary for Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey to read a proclamation on the steps of City Hall declaring March as Disabilities Awareness Month, which is exactly what took place Monday.

The Wyoming Department of Health and the Casper-Natrona County Health Department released a warning to Wyoming residents late last week to avoid the use of “spice” due to potentially critical health effects.

Wyoming Governor Matt Mead

Wyoming Governor Matt Mead made various appointments to state boards and commissions Monday. Of the various appointments that the Governor made to the Senate, two are from Sheridan. Michelle Sullivan was appointed to a five-year term on the Parks and Cultural Resources Committee.

The Buffalo City Council and Johnson County Commissioners will both have their first meetings of March on Tuesday, where they will work through short agendas.
The county will get presentations on employee health care from two different providers.

The BHS Drama Department rehearses their upcoming spring musical "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers."

This year's Buffalo High School play, a musical entitled “Seven Brides For Seven Brothers,” will be performed Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24 at the BHS Auditorium, beginning at 7pm both nights.
