An artists' reception was held Thursday on the mezzanine of the Sheridan County Fulmer Library featuring the work of the members of the Sheridan Artists' Guild.

The Sheridan Recreation District Board of Trustees accepted an independent auditors report at their monthly meeting earlier this week. Rec. District Executive Director Richard Wright says that it was a “clean” audit.

The Sheridan County Conservation District hosted the 69th Annual Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts Annual Convention this week in Sheridan, and representatives from all 34 districts in the state came together to discuss everything from water conservation and sustaining livestock to protecting rangeland habitat.

Leaders of both the city of Sheridan and Sheridan County are betting in a big way on the new management for the Sheridan Business Incubator.

The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee is sponsoring a two-day legislative forum next week at Sheridan City Hall. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the details.

The annual Toys for Tots campaign has started in Sheridan. Coordinator Tina McDougall said parents are registering, and donations of toys are being accepted at the program headquarters at 151 West Brundage Street.

Fans of the “Longmire” television show that was canceled at the end of last season are celebrating today because the popular series has been picked up by another network. Leslie Stratmoen has the update.

Private lands, like the farm these goose hunters are on in Goshen County, provide essential habitat for wildlife. Some say federal lands, especially in the West, also are fundamental to wildlife conservation but haven’t been accounted for in the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation.
