Sheridan County appeared to be past the threat of flooding this afternoon, barring any additional rainfall.

A flood advisory for minor flooding in parts of western Sheridan County issued early this morning by the National Weather Service in Billings remains in effect until 5 o’clock today.

Little Goose Creek is overflowing its banks in places, and gauges are almost at the flood stage, according to Dave Coleman.

Because of the recent storms, the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Arena in Sheridan is covered in inches of mud and standing water. Dakota Smith, Maintenance Supervisor says there’s not much they can do to ‘de-mud’ the arena, except wait.
