Significant rainfall Monday night has reportedly diminished two fires in Yellowstone National Park, although both fires are still burning.

The Sheridan County Commission awarded a bridge project on Monarch Road to Norwood Construction for $48,500 during today’s meeting, and approved a contract with O’Dell Construction for just over $51,000 to renovate the Sensational Kids Building at the county-owned airport in Sheridan.

Episodes of the new season of the “Longmire” television series will be shown each week at a local community center, starting tonight and running through mid-October. Leslie Stratmoen has the story.

The Joint Revenue Interim Committee of the Wyoming Legislature met Thursday and Friday in Buffalo. Representative Mike Madden of Buffalo is Co-Chair of the Committee, and says that funding for local governments was a major topic of the two-day meeting.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has temporarily closed the Amsden Creek Wildlife Habitat Management Area northwest of Dayton, to facilitate post wildfire treatments following last month’s Sheep Creek Fire. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
