The leaves are starting to turn and will be falling, soon. So, Sheridan police officer Ed Boone took a moment on a recent Public Pulse show to ask residents to follow city ordinances when raking the leaves.

In talking about deer management for the city of Sheridan over the past few weeks, the question came up as to who sets the quota for the animals to be killed within city limits.

Educators with the University of Wyoming Extension office say they’ve put the “can-do” in high-altitude home canning via food preservation publications and in-person expertise.

This week’s Bank of Sheridan, Sheridan Media Poll Questions is “how would you rate Wyoming’s efforts to diversify our economy”? Currently, the majority of those who voted have rated the state’s efforts as either “fair”, or “poor”.

Wyoming Governor Matt Mead praised the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s announcement Tuesday that the greater sage-grouse will not be listed under the Endangered Species Act. The news comes from the office of the governor.

Wyoming’s Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis, who is also the chairman of the Western Caucus, said Tuesday’s decision by the secretary of the interior that the greater sage grouse does not need to be listed as an endangered species at this time was the result of hard work, diligence, common sense thought and grassroots conservation efforts.

The University of Wyoming has been ranked as the world’s 11th best institution in the field of environmental economics by an international economics organization. The university is also ranked 6th in the world among universities only.

Sheridan County officials told about 30 residents of Big Horn that they must help themselves in resolving problems including drainage, floods and road maintenance.

Sheridan's Holy Name School will have its 80th annual Carnival and Chili Supper starting at 3 on Saturday at Whitney Commons.

The Sheridan Senior Center will host the 39th annual Golden Years Dinner on Oct. 4 at the facility on Smith Street in Sheridan.
