Council Gives Second Reading to Building Code

Sheridan's city council gave second-reading approval Monday night to an ordinance adopting the 2015 Building Code as written in spite of a plea by a Sheridan resident to mandate that sprinkler systems be installed in residences.

Johnson Waives Initial Appearance, Arraignment To Be Scheduled

Michael Johnson, a former employee at a Buffalo newspaper, was scheduled to make his initial appearance in Johnson County Circuit Court Monday on multiple counts of sexual abuse, drug and child pornography charges, but waived his initial appearance and will now wait for scheduling for his arraignment in District Court.

Indian Relay Race In Buffalo This Weekend

Buffalo will host the 2016 season-opening event for the Professional Indian Horse Racing Association (PIHRA) this weekend, June 11th and 12th at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

Airport Board's Report To County Commissioners

According to their Facebook page, Sheridan’s Cloud Peak Raceway has closed for the rest of this season.

Chamber Luncheon on Wednesday

The Sheridan Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly Luncheon Wednesday at 11:30 at the Best Western Sheridan Center. Dixie Johnson, CEO of the Chamber, said, while on our morning talk show Public Pulse, that the program is wonderful.

County Approves Draw From OJJDP Grant

Johnson County's Commissioners approved a request by Volunteers of America (VOA) for their quarterly draw of funds from their annual grant through the US Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) program in the amount of just over $8,000.
