Dayton Mayor Admitted to Hospital

Dayton Mayor Norm Anderson has been admitted as a patient to Sheridan Memorial Hospital, but no other information is available at this time.

Carnival Comes to Town

With the Sheridan WYO Rodeo comes the thrills of the Carnival which opened Wednesday night. Hundreds of cars packed the areas in and around the Sheridan County Fairgrounds as the rides and cotton candy machines came to life.

Patti Atkins, author of the book, “Reflections of the Inn,” showed slides and talked about the history of the Sheridan Inn during a Wyoming Wednesday program Wednesday morning at the Information Center on East Fifth Street.

SAWS Adopts Rate Hike, Budget Wednesday

The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board, also known as SAWS, has approved a rate increase of about two and one-quarter percent along with a budget of just over $2 million for the new fiscal year.

Wolf Creek Fire 50% Contained

The lightning caused Wolf Creek fire is at 50 percent containment as of Wednesday evening. The fire is located on the Tongue Ranger District about 12 miles west of Sheridan. Thanks to water drops from a helicopter, the fire is still just slightly over an acre in size.

Second Morning of Slack Excites With More Events

Wednesday morning brought more fans and more contestants to the arena for the second day of Wyo Rodeo slack. Fans were able to watch barrel racing, tie down roping, steer wrestling, and team roping runs to find out who will be competing in the first night performance of the week.

Senator Enzi Addresses Underfunded Pension Plans

With thousands of pension plans currently underfunded, many people are beginning to look at Congress to shore up the funds. U.S. Senator Mike Enzi of Wyoming said he’s worried that government support for any one pension fund could set a dangerous precedent that could cost lots of taxpayer dollars.
