Campout in Kendrick Park Cancelled

The campout sponsored by Science Kids and the Sheridan Community Land Trust that was scheduled for tonight in Kendrick Park has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Katie Belton with the Land Trust said the Unplug event will not be rescheduled.

Bighorn National Forest Lifts Stage 1 Fire Restrictions

Stage 1 fire restrictions in the Bighorn National Forest have been lifted according to Forest Supervisor Bill Bass. Stage 1 restrictions were implemented on July 29 in response to unusually hot and dry conditions in the forest when fire danger was rated very high. Recent precipitation and cooler temperatures have reduced the fire danger to moderate.

Ryan Greene of Rock Springs won the Democratic Primary Tuesday for Wyoming’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, garnering approximately 60 percent of the vote over his only challenger Charlie Hardy.
