Sheridan residents had a chance to meet and talk with the two finalists for the Sheridan city administrator's position in a reception Tuesday night at Sheridan College.

The Sheridan College Rodeo bucks into town this weekend for the final rodeo of the season. SC Rodeo Team Head Coach Marc Gilkerson, outlines what will happen over the three day event.

According to USA Today 64 Kmart stores are being closed around the U.S. as they continue to see declining sales. We have confirmed that Sheridan’s Kmart is not one of those 64 however there are two Wyoming Stores closing, Riverton’s and Cody’s.

The Sheridan County Commissioners approved two contracts with state agencies at their meeting Tuesday that will allow for the disbursement of grants to local entities. The first contract was with the Wyoming Department of Family Services for a TANF grant.

The Wyoming Wilderness Association and the U.S. Forest Service are inviting the public to a stewardship outing at Sibley Lake Saturday. Heidi Davidson with the WWA said the outing will take place from 9 am to 2 pm.

A unique part of the four-year curriculum at Wyoming Catholic College in Lander is a three-week wilderness course taken by all freshmen just before starting college.

There are two seats available for the Sheridan County Commission and three candidates who are vying for those two seats. Incumbents Mike Nickel and Tom Ringley, who are both Republican, and Democratic Candidate Vicki Taylor recently appeared as guests on our news talk show Public Pulse.

Brucellosis sampling is underway in the Bighorn Mountains as some archery elk hunters have already collected and submitted blood samples.
