The proposed budget for Sheridan County's public works department for next year is about $8,000 less than this year's, but the road and bridge budget is up by 2.7 percent.

Sheridan County commissioners started their first round of budget meetings with county staff and elected officials Monday, beginning with Sheridan County Sheriff Dave Hofmeier.
Bill Day, water commissioner for the city, said the issue was a communication problem between the computer and the water treatment plant, which rendered the plant unable to treat water for the city's customers.
The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce will host their monthly luncheon on Wednesday. According to Chamber CEO Dixie Johnson, the program for the luncheon will feature the Wyoming Technology Business Center.
Sheridan Fire and Rescue participated in their monthly rope training over the weekend. According to Firefighter and EMT Chad Brutlag, there are several different focuses that the training can have.
