September 18th

Weekend High School Sports Preview For Johnson County

Another busy weekend in high school sports is already underway, with some games played last night.

In volleyball, the Buffalo Lady Bison played at #5 Newcastle Thursday night, and will be at Douglas on Saturday.

September 17th

The"Big 4" meet on the Gridiron Friday - Broncs at East / NC at Gillette

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs play at Cheyenne East tomorrow Head coach Don Julian says week four is huge for the Broncs.

Julian says they embrace the fact that Sheridan high school is the smallest of the big four teams in 4-A this year and it's a role we should all embrace.

Last fall the T-Birds eliminated the Broncs from the post season with a 28-27 win in the semi finals Julian says they all remember that moment.

September 16th

Rams , Eagles , Broncs football all back on the road / UW is at home / Super Bowl rematch for the Broncos

BIG HORN FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams look to go to 3-0 this week and will have to do it out on the road Friday.

The Rams have victories over two very good 2-A teams in Lovell and Lyman and go up against another traditional power Glenrock.

Rams Head coach Michael McGuire says they've have gotten the job done over the first two weeks of the season.

And he says they have had some very good games with Glenrock over the last couple of years.

September 15th

Another big week of local sports action is underway

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Broncs are 3-0 on the season they are back on the road Friday at Cheyenne East. The T-Birds are the defending 4-A state champs and knocked the Broncs out of the playoffs last fall in the semi finals.

Broncs Head coach Don Julian says they know that east is tough and they have a big task in front of them.

We will have the game for you Friday starting with the First Federal pregame show at 5:30 kickoff is at 6:00 on 14-10 KWYO.

EAGLES / RAMS FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles and Big Horn Rams are also back on the road Friday.

SC Rodeo results

The first college rodeo of the season was in Riverton WY this past weekend. The SC women’s team had an outstanding rodeo placing second behind NJC. The men’s team placed fifth.

On the women’s team Tioni Erickson a freshman from Bozeman won the long round in the goat tying with a 9.0 second run her team mate Katy Miller also a freshman from Faith, SD was second in the long round with a time of 9.1 seconds. They both failed to keep their goat tied in the short round, placing them out of the average.

September 14th

Weekend Local sports wrap up

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Broncs beat Evanston 42-14 to go to 3-0 on the season after the victory, Head coach Don Julian. Friday they are back on the road at Cheyenne East.

EAGLES / RAMS FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles and Big Horn rams are both 2-0 after home wins Friday, Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has story.

The Rams play at Glenrock Friday while the Eagles travel to play Upton/Sundance.

Weekend High School Sports Wrap For Johnson County

All of the fall high school sports teams from Buffalo and Kaycee were in action this weekend, but we are still waiting on some results to get posted.

In football, the Buffalo Bison hosted the top-ranked Powell Panthers Friday night at the newly-christened Mike Moon Field.

September 12th

Broncs / Eagles / Rams pick up football victories / Pokes at #2 Oregon today / Broncos host KC Sunday

BRONCS - The Broncs whipped Evanston 42-14, the Broncs led 35-0 in the third quarter next week they are back on the road at Cheyenne East.

EAGLES - The Tongue River Eagles are 2-0 after beating Moorcroft 28-8 the eagles play at home next week against Upton/Sundance.

RAMS - The Big Horn Rams beat up Lyman 55-22 to run their record to 2-0 the Rams play at Glenrock next week.

COWBOY FOOTBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys play at #2 Oregon today, Cowboy pregame starts at 11:00, kickoff is at noon on KWYO and 87.7 FM.
