Former Cowgirl Fallon Lewis to play pro hoops

As Fallon Lewis finished up her playing career with the University of Wyoming Cowgirls basketball team this past spring, the thought of giving up the game she had played and loved since grade school didn’t sit well with the Dayton native.

“I really wanted to continue playing basketball professionally, but at that point, I didn’t know if there would be a lot of offers or even how that worked,” Lewis said. “I was just sitting back and waiting to hear something.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Broncs play at home tonight against Evanston we will have it live for you on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM kickoff is at 6:00.

There are three unbeaten teams in 4-A heading into week three and Broncs Head coach Don Julian says the season so far has gone they way most people thought.

The Broncs face Evanston tonight, Julian says the Red Devils always look familiar to the Broncs.

In the win at KW last week the Bronc defense really stepped up.

Johnson County High School Weekend Sports Preview

Sports teams from both Kaycee and Buffalo High Schools are in action this weekend.

In football, the Buffalo Bison will host the top-ranked Powell Panhers tonight at Bison Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
Former Bison Head Football Coach Mike Moon will be honored at halftime with a ceremony that will rename the field Mike Moon Field.

On the Gridiron Broncs, Rams and Eagles at home Friday / Pokes travel Saturday / Broncos v Chiefs Sunday

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Bronc football team plays at home tomorrow night against Evanston we will have it live for you on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM kickoff is at 6:00.

Head coach Don Julian says tomorrow night is military and veterans night at the game.

The Broncs have outscored two opponents 97-13 in two games, Julian says they were able to big play Laramie in the season opener and it was good to last week they mostly ground out the victory against Kelly Walsh.

Football / X-Country / Volleyball highlight local sports action this week

There are a couple of big events coming this weekend, Big Horn high school is hosting their annual volleyball tournament Saturday and Sheridan high school is hosting the Michelle Ludwig cross country invitational also on Saturday.

CROSS COUNTRY - Sheridan Head cross country coach Art Bauers says several regional teams of all sizes will be competing.

And he says the course at the Sheridan VA might be one of the best cross country tracks in the region.

Bronc / Lady Bronc tennis has a big week ahead / Broncs, Rams and Eagles's Football all home this week

BRONC / LADY BRONC TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams are scheduled for matches Thursday, Friday and Saturday Head coach Bob Faurot.

The Lady Broncs have struggled a bit this fall but two-time defending state singles champ Julia Fenn continues to roll this fall and is dominating her opponents.

Faurot says that Fenn has invested a lot of time sharpening her skills and mental game.

September 7th

Weekend Local sports wrap up

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Bronc football team whipped Kelly Walsh 48-7, they opened up a 28-0 halftime lead and put it away in the 3rd quarter to go to 2-0 on the season after the victory Head coach Don Julian.

And for the first time in two games the Broncs really got physical with the Trojans in the second half.

They play at home Friday night against Evanston and Julian says the focus this week is to just keep moving forward and working hard to improve their play.

Buffalo and Kaycee High Schools' athletes had a busy weekend with all fall teams in action.

In football, the Buffalo Bison traveled to Cody to take on the #3-ranked Broncs and fell to them 45-20.

BRONCS / RAMS / EAGLES FOOTBALL - The Bronc football team whipped Kelly Walsh 48-7, the Broncs opened up a 28-0 halftime lead and put it away in the 3rd quarter to go to 2-0 on the season they play at home next Friday against Evanston

The Big Horn Rams opened the season with a nice 25-0 shutout win at Lovell the Rams will play Lyman at home next Friday

The Tongue River Eagles opened the 2014 season with a nice road win as well beating Rocky Mountain 14-7.
