PLUC Raffle Drawing Next Tuesday

The Public Land Users Committee, or PLUC, is in the final days of selling raffle tickets as a means of raising funds to help with expenses incurred on a fencing project at 3-Poles Recreation Area. Tickets are $5 apiece or $20 for a book of five, and the prizes are either a Savage Rifle or a Hoyt Bow.

Take-Back Program Successful

This 2-foot high box was filled nearly to the top by the time Sheridan's Take-Back day ended.

Two weeks ago, Sheridan County Law Enforcement, along with Sheridan Media, took part in the first annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Program.

A media release from the Denver, Colorado office of the Drug Enforcement Agency tells us that Colorado, Utah, Montana and Wyoming contributed mightily to the nationwide effort.

Friday morning, the Sheridan County Board of Commissioners purchased condominium space within 1981 Double Eagle Drive and signed a subsequent lease agreement with Forward Sheridan, Inc. for 5,400 square feet of office space.

Kerns Camp Sites Improved

The Wyoming Game and Fish regional office in Sheridan has released information about improved campsites near the Kerns Wildlife Habitat Management Area. Information Specialist Warren Mischke says the area is expanded and safer, thanks to an agreement with some other agencies.

Dillon Sutherlin Sentenced

Dillon Sutherlin to receive intensive residency treatment as part of his sentence for a January 30th robbery in Sheridan.

17-year-old Dillon Sutherlin was sentenced in 4th Judicial District Court Friday afternoon. Sutherlin, along with Jesse Hamlin and JJ Hatch, robbed David Simmons at gunpoint on January 30th, 2009 at Simmons' home in Sheridan.

SHERIDAN CITY COUNCIL HOLDS SPECIAL MEETING

The Sheridan City Council met in a special session yesterday to consider a grant application by Forward Sheridan. The grant would be a $25,000 planning only grant from the Wyoming Business Council.
