Vehicle Fire On N. Main

Sheridan Fire-Rescue, Sheridan Police Department, and Rocky Mountain Ambulance responded to a vehicle fire in the 2400 block of North Main at 7:15 pm on Thursday. The fire involved a 2000 Dodge 1500 4x4. The engine compartment of the pickup was fully involved in fire on arrival. Fire also damaged the interior or the vehicle. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire On The Mountain

The Gilead Fire now spans 4430 acres 10 miles northwest of Buffalo and eight miles southwest of Story. The fire, as seen here from the HF Bar Ranch and UM Ranch, was started Aug. 14 by lightening, but has grown exponentially in the past week. (Photos by Michelle Jensen)

New Bell Tower on the Big Horn School Campus

As part of the recent Big Horn School Campus renovation a new bell tower was constructed. This tower now houses two historic bells. Information from Judy Slack, manager of the Wyoming Room of the Sheridan Fulmer Public LIbrary, indicates that the smaller bell on the right - The Wyoming Collegiate Institute Bell - was used from 1892 - 1930.

As part of the recent Big Horn School Campus renovation a new bell tower was constructed. This tower now houses two historic bells.

T.J. Headed Home to Redmond Oregon a Big Winner

In rodeo terminology T.J. McCauley is headed for "home" after having rounded the third barrel to finish Senior Barrel Racing with a time of 18.688. However before the day was over T.J. would head "home" to Redmond Oregon with a 2012 Ford Truck, thanks to Fremont Motor Sheridan, while pulling a three horse slant load goose neck Jackson trailer, thanks to Prime Rate Motors.

What T.J. drove and pulled back home to Redmond Oregon. As the rig looked before he was announced as the All-Around Champion and before his name was applied to the truck and trailer.

Sheridan County All-Around Cowgirl & Cowboy

At the Sheridan County Rodeo Award's Ceremony and Supper Saturday evening Shelby Mann and Mike Collins took home saddles for winning the All-Around Cowgirl and Cowboy Titles for 2012. Shelby finished with 270 points to become the All-Around Women's Champion while Tamara Mann finished in the runner-up position with 250 points.

At the Sheridan County Rodeo Award's Ceremony and Supper Saturday evening Shelby Mann and Mike Collins took home saddles for winning the All Round Cowgirl and Cowboy Titles for 2012.
