More than 400 people attended the Downtown Sheridan Association's Wild West Wine Festival Friday night at the Elk's Lodge.

DSA Executive Director Beth Holsinger said there were more than 20 vendors at this year's event, each with a half-dozen to a dozen wines and beers that people could sample during the evening. Plus, she said, there was plenty of food.

There was also a silent auction for items including a kayak, hand-painted wine glasses and wine decanters, framed art work and baskets of products donated by Sheridan's downtown businesses. There also were several chances to win prizes in raffles.

This is the 18th year for the wine fest, and Holsinger said it's the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Downtown Sheridan Association.

She said the association probably won't know before Tuesday how much money was raised in Friday night's event.
