AARP Honors Five Sheridan Residents

Five Sheridan residents are among the 11 people honored by the Wyoming AARP last year for their community service.

The five include community partners Carmen Rideout and Stella Montano, who both work at Sheridan's Senior Center, retired educator Walt Wragge, AARP Foundation tax-aide Dave McClintock and Les Engelter, who is a recipient of AARP's Lifetime Achievement award.

Engelter chairs the Greenhouse For Living nursing facility and the Northern Wyoming Mental Health Center board of directors, both in Sheridan. He also serves on the Sheridan County Tripartite board, and volunteers for the First Christian Church Thrift Store in Sheridan.

Rideout is executive director of the senior center, and Montano is director of the center's Family Caregiver services. They were recognized by AARP for helping the organization further efforts supporting caregivers and their rights in Wyoming. Wragge is a trustee of the Northern Wyoming Community College District and a member of the national Association of Community College trustees.

McClintock has worked with Tax Aide for 10 years, including six years as state coordinator. He retired from Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power after 25 years as utility manager.
