Bond Set for Sheridan Men Charged with Assault

21-year-old Dylan Dygert and 26-year-old Jacob Olson, both Sheridan residents, had their initial appearance in Sheridan County Circuit Court Friday afternoon. A $20,000 cash only bond was set for both Olson and Dygert. Both men will be applying for a court appointed attorney at which point their next appearance in court will be scheduled. According to the Sheridan County Circuit Court, Dygert is currently serving 180 days in jail because his probation stated that he was not allowed to be in bars or liquor stores. Olson has had a history with DUI’s and substance abuse. The two are charged with Aggravated Assault and Battery which is a felony that could be punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine or both.

Dygert and Olson allegedly assaulted Clayton Denny in the alley behind the Beaver Creek Saloon early Sunday morning. Denny sustained serious injuries to his head and face. After the Sheridan Police Department developed probable cause, they arrested the men Thursday afternoon.

If either men make bond, they are not allowed to make contact with Denny, his family or his girlfriend and they are not allowed to use alcohol, be in bars or other alcohol centered businesses.
