BPD's 'Operation Blue Santa' Helps Families During Christmas

The Buffalo Police Department again this year had their “Operation Blue Santa” program, and helped four families have a better Christmas through their efforts and those in the community.

Officer Matt Misslin gave a report to the city council this month, saying it had started small but has grown every year since then.

Misslin said there are a number of programs that are seeking help that can get it, especially during the holidays, but the Blue Santa program seeks those that are not the “typical” recipients of

Misslin said it has been “incredible to be a part of,” and that whenever they have turned to those in the community the outpouring of help they receive for the program.

Mayor Mike Johnson thanked both Officer Misslin and Chief Jason Carder for starting and maintaining the program to help those that need it in the community.
