Budget Ordinance Passes Second Reading in Ranchester

Ranchester's town council gave second-reading approval to an ordinance adopting a budget of just over $1.4 million for the fiscal year that starts on July 1.

Action came during the council's meeting Tuesday night. Mayor Peter Clark said the budget is up a little over the budget adopted for the current fiscal year. He said third and final reading of the budget is scheduled for the council's meeting on June 18.

In other action Tuesday, the council authorized removing several “No Parking” signs from Brook Street and approved four 24-hour bar days for the balance of this year. The dates are June 7, Aug. 3 and 10 and Dec. 31.

Clark said June 7 is the date for Hay Days, a music party at the Buckshot Bar & Grill. The dates in August were requested by the Silver Spur, and Dec. 31 is for New Year's Eve.
