Buffalo Council Accepts Grant For New Police Radios

Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder brought a request before the city council to accept a grant that will purchase new police radios in the next fiscal year.

Chief Carder explained tht the Homeland Security Grant, in the amount of $20,000 will be used to pay for upgrading the department's Motorola Radios used by patrol officers, but in fiscal year 2018.

The council voted to accept the homeland Security Grant.

Chief Carder also reported that the department will be assisting with the Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, October 28th at Shopko in Buffalo. Officer will be on hand from 10 that morning until 2 in the afternoon.

Carder said the department will also be assisting with the annual Monster March event with traffic cointrol downtown.
Main Street will be closed from Fort Street south to Angus Street from 4 to 6 on Halloween afternoon, Tuseday October 31st.
He has also scheduled additional officers to work throughout the city on Halloween night.
