Buffalo Council Addresses Lead In City's Drinking Water

Since the City of Buffalo announced earlier this month that testing of the city's water supply in some homes and buildings in the city had found elevated levels of lead, questions have been directed at city employees from concerned citizens.

At the last Buffalo City Council meeting, Mayor Mike Johnson and City Water Treatment Plant Operator Ronny Young addressed the issue to explain what happened, what citizens could do to protect themselves and how to go about testing their homes or businesses for levels of lead in their water.

Mayor Johnson said residents can contact Inter-Mountain Laboratories in Sheridan who can get them the testing kits and perform tests on their water for a nominal fee.
