Buffalo Council Approves Emergency Operating Plan

Buffalo Mayor Mike Johnson

Buffalo's City Council Approved and signed the 2016 Emergency Operating Plan, as requested by Johnson County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly.

Connolly spoke to the council at their last regular meeting, explaining that the county and city needed to endorse and sign the plan and then update the plan every two years.
She explained the cit and county could sign the agreement and implementation sheet and get them filed with Homeland Security.

She explains the rush to get the paperwork submitted.

This plan is a continuation of an existing plan already on file with Homeland Security, and the city and county will now work on upgrades to the plan over the next two years, according to Connolly.

The council voted to allow Mayor Mike Johnson to sign the Emergency Operating Plan.

The county commissioners approved Chairman Bill Novotny to sign the plan earlier in the day at their regular meeting.
