Local oral historian Val Burgess will present the program, “History Speaks - Are We Listening?” on Wednesday, March 22 at 6 pm at the Sheridan Fulmer Library.

The program is free and open to the public. Burgess has conducted over 20 years of research by interviewing former prisoners of war and their family members on their personal experiences of World War II and their lives after the war. Burgess says that she’s learned a lot from those she’s interviewed throughout the years.

Burgess has established a non-profit entitled Wars’ Voices, with the purpose of educating people about World War II prisoners of war and their experiences.
