As Sheridan Media reported earlier, candidates for four seats on the Northern Wyoming Community College District spoke and fielded questions from the audience at Wednesday night's forum sponsored by the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce.

Eight candidates will be on the November ballot. They are Walt Wragge, Debra Wendtland, Mike Watkins, Teddy Ladmirault, Gary Koltiska, Bruce Hoffman, Elaine Henry and Rolf Distad.

Sheridan Media was able to interview Wragge before the forum started, and Henry and Distad after the event, and ask them why they're running. For Wragge, it's a matter of liking what he's doing.

Distad has served on the college board in past years.

Henry's reason for running is her own love of learning.

During the candidates' forum, Wendtland said she also is a lifelong consumer and supporter of education. Ladmirault said the college has been good to her, and she wants to give back to the college in return.

Hoffman, who along with Wragge is one of the two incumbents seeking re-election, said he's talked with former students and former college athletes, and everyone he's talked to says Sheridan College was one of the best things that have happened to them in their lives.
