About 30 cadets with the Civil Air Patrol in Sheridan took to the skies at the Bighorn Airways facilities in Sheridan Saturday.

Lt. Col. Brent Miller of Sheridan, who's the highest-ranking cadet in Wyoming, was on hand and explained.

He said the exercise is to give the cadets a taste of aviation and what the Civil Air Patrol can offer them.

He said a couple of the cadets flying this weekend have only been Civil Air Patrol members for about two weeks.
