Casper man pleads not guilty to killing son

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Casper man accused of suffocating one of his sons and botching an at-home circumcision on another has pleaded not guilty by reason of mental deficiency.
Thirty-eight-year-old Samuel Eugene McGehee entered the plea Friday in Natrona County District Court and was ordered transported to the Wyoming State Hospital in Evanston for psychiatric valuation. McGehee is charged with first-degree murder and felony child abuse. Authorities say McGehee killed one son on Nov. 15 by covering him with a coat when the child wouldn't take a nap. During the investigation police say they found evidence of the botched 2008 circumcision on the other son. Police say McGehee and his wife took the child to a medical facility after they couldn't stop the bleeding.
