Charges Filed for Bronson

The charges against Scott Bronson were read in Sheridan County’s Circuit Court Thursday afternoon. He is being charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors for his actions during last week’s Broadway Standoff. Count one charges Bronson with Felony Aggravated Assault and Battery which is punishable by not more than 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine or both. Count two is Felonious Restraint, a felony that brings with it a fine of no more than $10,000, up to 5 years in prison or both. Count three is a Misdemeanor Domestic Battery punishable by not more than 6 months in jail, a fine of no more than $750 or both. The fourth and final count that Bronson is being charged with is a Misdemeanor Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle which is punishable by imprisonment of for not more than one year in jail, a fine of not more than $1,000, or both.

Count one is being charged for his alleged threat to use a deadly weapon, an uzi, on his mother, Lori Giles, on August 31 when they were in her residence. The second count is being charged because Bronson he unlawfully restrained Giles, while threatening her with the aforementioned weapon, in her home on August 31. Later that day Bronson forced Giles to drive him around the city and county of Sheridan with the uzi in his lap. The first Misdemeanor count comes as a result of Bronson knowingly or recklessly causing harm to Giles by throwing or tackling her to the ground in her home on August 31. The final charge is for when Bronson drove away in a 2006 Dodge truck that belonged to Eldon Green without his permission, while it was parked at his residence.

A $35,000 cash-only-bond was set Tuesday by Sheridan Circuit Court Judge Shelley A. Cundiff and she did not make any changes to that decision on Thursday. Bronson will have his next appearance in Circuit Court scheduled soon.
