Sheridan Police Chief Rich Adriaens explained Friday evening that the plan is still to wait out the subjects that are dwelling in a residence on the 600 block of Broadway Street. A 32-year-old male and his girlfriend, who is there voluntarily, are reportedly under the influence of methamphetamine. The male suspect also is armed with an automatic rifle. Chief Adriaens said that progress was made through the negotiators today on the incident.

After about 14 hours with the power down, the PD, with the help of MDU, were able to restore it for the other residents in the area. However, the water remains shut off.

Chief Adriaens would like to remind the public that human life, including the lives of the subjects, is the main priority.

Every situation of this sort works differently and Chief Adriaens was pleased with the progress made today. He also said that the PD has been receiving an incredible out pour of community support.

Those that would like to make donations can take them to the Sheridan Police Department. Teams will continue to negotiate with the subjects and try to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
