City Launches First Clean-Up Day

The city of Sheridan will launch its first Community Clean Up Day in conjunction with its long-running Trees for Trash event at the municipal landfill on May 6.

The event is designed to bring the community together to help “Keep Sheridan Beautiful,” according to a news release from the city. Volunteer groups will be dispatched to specific open spaces in Sheridan, including entry and exit points and areas in need near parks and streams.

The city parks department will plant up to 20 ornamental trees in recognition of the community effort. The city will provide all the tools the Clean Up Day volunteers will need to participate.

Individuals and groups may sign up by April 30 online. The Trees for Trash and Community Clean Up Day is sponsored by ERA Carroll Realty, Landon's Greenhouse and Sheridan Media.
