The Sheridan County Commission approved an enlargement of the Dayton Fire District by 40 acres, during Tuesday’s meeting.

Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson provided the background of the proposal prior to the vote.

She said the commission’s approval means the enlargement will be formalized by resolution, should there be any questions regarding the area in the future. Following her presentation, Commissioner Terry Cram asked her to give the exact location and size of the annex, for the official record.

In wrapping up her presentation, she issued a public thank you to everyone involved in coming together to present the proposal.
