Commissioners Discuss Permits, Tax Collections, Signage

Johnson County's Commissioners have approved a Catering Permit for a wedding reception at Lake DeSmet scheduled in May.

The reception is for the Belus/Welles wedding and will be happening at the Lakeview Lodge at Lake DeSmet on May 20th, catered by the Lake Stop.

The commissioners, after getting a report from Treasurer Carla Faircloth, asked her about the status tax collections for the county, which she said were “going well.”

Sharon Nadeau, with the Buffalo Downtown Association, brought the new “way-finding” signs in for the commissioners to view.
The new signs, some of which ae larger traffic signs while others are smaller pedestrian signs, will be installed in and near the downtown corridor this spring to direct visitors to area attractions such as the Bomber Mountain Civic Center, the Clear Creek Trail System and the Jim Gatchell Museum.

We will have more on the way-finding sign project in an upcoming story.
