Council Gets September Report From Buffalo Police Chief

Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder, during a brief end-of-the-month report, gave what appeared to be a “normal” month for the department in September, with the incidents reported being relatively minor.

Chief Carder said there were almost 950 incidents in the city, and dispatch handled just over 3,500 calls during the month, and the city's Animal Control Officer (ACO) Karen Kimutis, in addition to calls within the city limits, responded to 3 animal calls in the county, for which they will be charged $150.

In his written report, Chief Carder said there were 26 accidents, 7 civil disputes, and 1 fireworks violation that officers responded to in September.

There were also 62 traffic stops, 4 noise complaints, 1 vandalism report and 3 parking complaints.
