County Commission May 4th Report

Sheridan County Commission

Sheridan County commissioners took action on several agenda items Tuesday morning, and kept on the table one item. Two weeks ago, Matt and Leslie Lube requested a rezone on their 9.72 acre property located off of State Highway 335 in Big Horn. Commissioner Terry Cram explains.

Commissioners considered and approved renewal of the contract for the Dewey Fidelity Quarry off Beatty Gulch Road.

They considered and approved a Storage Yard Conditional Use Permit on property owned by Pennaco Energy, Inc./Marathon Oil, accessed off State Highway 336. Cram noted to the commission how nice it is to see an oil company that's making plans to “stick around.”

The Commission considered and approved entering into a 6-month agreement with DCM Construction LLC of Sheridan for road improvements to County Road 144 – Pass Creek Road.

The Commission awarded three $1,000 scholarships to Sheridan County graduates, who all just happened to be from Sheridan High School -- names were blacked out for fair consideration. The scholarships were awarded to Mike Leibrich, Austin Woodward and Mark Galloway. One alternate was chosen in the event one of the original three doesn't take the money – that goes to Angele LoGuidice of Big Horn High School.

They considered and accepted the rental agreement of County Property with the Lake DeSmet Counties Coalition in the amount of $700.

Commissioners considered and accepted the Fiscal Year 2009-2010 Audit report, minus the Hospital Foundation's report; the County received a clean audit.

And Commissioners accepted the Budget Request for Fiscal Year 2010-2011.
