County Commissioners Start First Round of Budget Meetings

Sheridan County commissioners started their first round of budget meetings Monday with department heads, beginning with Scott Hininger, who's the University of Wyoming extension educator for Sheridan County.

In a presentation that lasted less than 20 minutes, Hininger explained his request for funds from the county.

Commissioner Terry Cram said the budget Hininger presented would save the county some money, to which Hininger laughingly replied, that was what the county told him to do. The extension service has requested a budget of just under $129,000.

Commission Chairman Bob Rolston said the budget requests that will be considered this week are, quote, “very, very preliminary."

The first round of meetings between commissioners and department heads will continue through Thursday.
