Friday's Ugly Sweater Contest at the Cozy Corner Bar raised nearly $300 for the Keystone Awards, according to Keystone Committee Chair Rindy West. The original story is below.

The Cozy Corner Bar at Coffeen Liquors hosted a special event Friday night. Sheridan Media reporter Pat Blair has the details.

People put on their ugliest holiday sweaters and headed for the Cozy Corner Bar Friday night for the second annual Ugly Sweater Contest to benefit the Sheridan Senior Center and the Keystone Awards coming up in April. Rindy West, who's development director at the Senior Center, elaborated.

The Keystone Awards honor outstanding people in the community and are also a fundraiser for the Senior Center. West said the people who help make the event possible are Rob and Lori Kindle and their daughter Sarah, owners of Coffeen Liquors, which also hosted the contest last year. I had a chance to talk to Rob Kindle, who talked about how last year's success contributed to the decision to host the event this year.

In addition to the chance for Denver Nuggets tickets and other prizes, the event included drink specials and food. West said the Keystone Awards will be on April 20.
