Dayton, Ranchester Mayors Advance to General Elections

Incumbent Mayor Norm Anderson and challenger Dan Dowdy both advance to the November general elections in Dayton's race for mayor, but only two of three candidates for mayor in Ranchester will be on the November ballot.

Those two are incumbent Mayor Peter Clark and challenger Allan Moore, who defeated Terry Roelfsema in Tuesday's primary elections. Clark received 124 votes and Moore 77 in complete but unofficial returns.

Also advancing to the general elections are all four candidates for the Dayton council and Jessica Weaver, who's running for the Ranchester town council.

Two four-year posts were up for election in Ranchester this year, but Weaver is the only candidate who filed. There were, however, 13 write-in votes in that race.
