Deceased Male Found in the Bighorns

According to the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Department, a deceased male was found in the Bighorn Mountains on Saturday evening. Deputies were first informed about the missing person at around 8:40 that morning when they were told that 2 males had gotten stuck on Forest Service Road 15 while operating a sports utility vehicle.

One male reportedly walked to a nearby resort, but then returned and he was able to free the immobilized vehicle. That male then returned to the Sheridan area. The other male was not located by this time so the Sheridan Area Search and Rescue was sent out. They found the deceased male at approximately 10:14pm. Preliminary evidence indicates that exposure to the elements was a factor in the man’s death, however, the official cause of death has yet to be determined. No charges have been filed at this point and the incident is still under investigation.
