UPDATE: Dining for a Cause raised $14,295.25. Matching dollars from local businesses totaled $18,250, for a grand total of $32,545.25.

Diners turned out in large numbers Monday to support two Sheridan High School organizations during this month's Dining for a Cause.

The event was from 11 til 2 and again from 4 til 10 at Frackelton's in downtown Sheridan. In an interview with Sheridan Media about 12:30 Monday, Restaurant Manager Dave Youngren was pleased with the attendance.

Sheridan High School teacher Tyson Emborg was on hand to greet restaurant patrons.

He estimated he'd talked to 50 or 60 individuals so far by the end of the first hour. A couple of Sheridan County School District 2 trustees were among the lunch-time diners, and Sheridan Media spoke with Trustee Hollis Hackman.

Earlier in the day, Emborg talked about the two organizations the event specifically helped, starting with We the People.

Then the computing club.

Emborg said Monday's event also kicked off homecoming week at Sheridan High School.
