Funds raised during Monday's Dining for a Cause at Frackelton's restaurant will help build a youth community center for Sheridan KidsLife.

Ryan Koltiska, who's executive director of KidsLife, said construction of the new facility is already under way next to the YMCA.

Koltiska said the cost of the building is over $2 million, but $1.5 million of that has already been raised. He said KidsLife is in the process of fundraising, but he was hoping for a good turnout at the Dining for a Cause event.

He said hopes are that the building will be completed by next summer so it can be opened for after-school hours next fall.

KidsLife is a Christian youth organization for children in third through fifth grades, junior high and high school. Koltiska said the organization currently has clubs in Sheridan, Big Horn and Tongue River.

Clubs meet weekly for games and Bible study. He said the building now under construction will allow KidsLife to expand the support by providing an after-school hangout.
