A preschool program for 3-year-olds will be added to Sheridan County School District 1's offerings in Big Horn.

Trustees approved addition of the program at their meeting Tuesday night. The district currently already operates a preschool program for 4-year-olds.

In other action Tuesday, a change by Wyoming's state board of education in Hathaway requirements meant a change was needed in a form that lists graduation requirements for students at Sheridan County School District 1.

District 1 Superintendent Pete Kilbride explained after trustees approved the change in their meeting Tuesday night.

He said the district hasn't changed any of its own graduation requirements.

Also Tuesday, trustees recognized teachers of the month and Apple Award recipients on the two sides of the school district. Teachers of the Month for March are Val Brutlag at Big Horn High School and Dr. Edward Hinzman at Tongue River High School.

Apple Award winners are Kat Flynn, a bus driver on the district's Big Horn side, and Janet Masters, a secretary at Tongue River High School.
