Sheridan County Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson and the chairs of Sheridan County's Republican and Democratic parties canvassed county primary election results Friday morning.

Thompson said the canvas was a success.

She also talked about the next step in the process.

She said there were write-in candidates on the Democratic ballot for the position of state senator for District 22. That seat is currently held by Dave Kinskey, who ran unopposed on the Republican ballot. No Democrats filed for the office in time for the primary elections. Thompson said the secretary of state's office will decide whether any of the Democratic write-ins will be on the November general election ballot.

The state canvassing board is scheduled to meet Aug. 24.
