Volunteers of America will hold their eighth annual ‘Empty Bowl’ fundraiser Thursday night from 5 to 7:30 at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. VOA Director of Homeless Services Claude Alley says the event allows guests to enjoy a simple dinner to emulate meals one might have at a soup kitchen.

Alley said all funds raised from the Empty Bowl event go directly to the Sheridan community homeless services. He added that with the Sheridan Community Shelter operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, no other program relies on community support as much as the Shelter does.

Tickets for the event will be available at the door with a cost of $25 for families, $10 for adults, and $5 for kids. There is no charge for children five and under.
