An Evening With the Simpson Brothers

The Sheridan County Museum and Historical Society hosted a fundraiser to benefit the museum Thursday night at the Sheridan Holiday Inn. Dubbed as an evening of humor and historical recollections with the University of Wyoming Vice President Emeritus, Peter K. Simpson and his brother, retired U.S. Senator Alan K. Simpson, Sheridan Media’s Judy Hagerott stopped by and brings us this story.

The night was sold out as nearly 250 people purchased tickets to attend “An Evening with the Simpson Brothers,” a fundraiser to benefit the Sheridan County Historical Society and Museum. Museum Director John Woodward had his reasons for the great support.

The ticket price was $75 per person and Woodward said they did their homework.

A dinner along with a silent and live auction, the night’s focus was on the tales the Simpson brothers, Peter K. and Allen K., grandsons of Sheridan County coal magnate Peter Kooi would tell.

For Woodward, the night was for those who came out to support the museum.

The museum is located on Sibley Circle and opened its doors in 2006.
